Today I wanted to show off this fun skirt my Mom made me. She took 2 tshirts and created this skirt! I love that it's long. Make me want to play all day. And since it's made from tshirts it's really comfy

My Girlfriends Quilt Shop

This weekend I got to meet one of my Mom's friends - Kris - from the DIY dish. She has just opened a fabric shop in Logan, Utah called - My Girlfriends Quilt Shop. 

I told her about my Brassy Blossom blog and how I am creating ebooks. She was really nice and excited for me. It was fun to meet her because I have seen her on the Nate Show AND the Rachel Ray show! I even got to see and stand in the new DIY Dish studio!!!

I should have gotten her autograph!

Good things Utah!

I was SOOOOO excited to be on TV with my Mom! Although I was on TV for Brassy Apple, I asked my Mom if I could tell the producer about Brassy Blossom. I'd love to be on TV for that! Maybe someday!

Trading post time!

Molly - Miss Brassy Blossom - came home from school a few weeks ago SO excited about "Trading post day". All the classes in her grade have been learning about Trappers, Traders and Explorers. As a tradition the classes get to set up a trading post and exchange "animal furs/hides" for merchandise. 

Molly brought me home this sketch labeled with all the items she wanted to make. how cute is that?!

So she and her friend that she teamed up with spent the next 2 weeks making necklaces, bracelets, bookmarks and hair accessories. Then we worked on making the sketch of her "shop" a reality. 

The open and closed sign was her idea. She wanted that so she could close it and go shopping to the other classes. 

Trading post DAY! By the time I got there to snap a photo they had already had a lot of merchandise bought from their "boutique". Looks like a good trading day! Molly said she would love to be able to do that everyday!

So fun to see some of her designs (even ones included in her eBook and upcoming ones too) being well received and see her so excited about it! Best of luck to any other girls out there who have a similar project. :)

Open for Business!

Alright! Today is the day! My first eBook has been released! It has 15 projects in it that are all fashion related. There are several flip flop projects so my mom and I thought it would be fun to call it - Fashion to "flip" for - get it? :) 

 

 

I have really liked creating lots of new things to share in this eBook - mainly because I have been creating lots of fun new things to wear!

2 more eBooks are already in the works! I will be sharing some sneak peeks from those here soon!

We have been working on lots of projects! The first eBook of fun projects is just about ready....stay tuned!

Getting Started

Hi! This is all new to me but I am getting a lot of help from my Mom and learning a lot too. It's mostly fun and exciting! I can't wait to share my projects with you! 

The first thing I have had to do is collect all my ideas. My mom said the best thing is to "write them down." That gets them out of my head and frees up space for more ideas to come in :) It's also easier to remember everything.

My mom created this notebook for me. It's just a plain composition notebook you can buy anywhere with a little paper glued on top. She also added some handy paper tabs that help keep my ideas organized a bit too.

It's easy to spot when I need it and it even comes along in the car with me. If you have lots of great ideas too, I encourage you to keep a notebook handy to jot them down when the inspiration strikes!
